Still Making Music

I’ve been playing trombone for over 40 years now.  I’ve got less hair than I did when I started … and I might be only marginally better.  OK, that might be a self-deprecating statement to a small degree, but I do have a lot of fun and I love to perform.  A few years ago a couple college friends I had never met before started a local community concert band (you should go check out the Lexington Community Band YouTube channel) so I joined all the other cool kids.

When I’m not writing software, I can often be found making music.  In a small ensemble, in a band, in an orchestra, in a church, in a concert hall — sometimes just out on my front porch!  Sometimes classical, sometimes jazz, sometimes it’s just Christmas favorites.  It’s one thing I’ve just never grown out of.

… and I can’t be more appreciative of the people I’ve met over the years in the world of music.  What an absolutely astounding experience this has been!

Playing a solo in “The Little Brown Jug” this past spring.
